Chiral separability of boron cluster species studied by screening approaches utilizing polysaccharide‐based chiral stationary phases

In this study, the screening steps of chiral separation strategies with polysaccharide‐based chiral stationary phases were applied on boron cluster compounds in normal‐phase liquid chromatography (NPLC) and polar organic solvents chromatography (POSC). Since the screening steps were initially developed to analyze organic compounds, their applicability for boron clusters was investigated. Overall, the screening steps in NPLC were applicable for the separation of zwitterions, while for anions mostly no elution was observed. A hypothesis for the latter behavior is precipitation of anions in the nonpolar mobile phases. Ten out of 11 compounds could be partially or baseline separated on the NPLC screening systems. In POSC, all zwitterions were separated on at least one of the screening systems, with an overall lower retention as in NPLC. Anions were detected but not separated in the majority of the experiments. Also their retention on the chiral stationary phases was very limited. This study showed that the chiral discrimination potential of chemically modified polysaccharides is meaningful for chiral separations of structurally chiral boron cluster species, but needs further systematic research, in which recognition mechanisms should be further explored. In addition, some unusual peaks also indicated that conditions with a high separation efficiency must first be searched for some of the tested systems. Copyright © 2014 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.     

Free groups in a normal subgroup of the field of fractions of a skew polynomial ring

Let k(t) be the field of rational functions over the field k, let σ be a k-automorphism of K = k(t), let D = K(X;σ) be the ring of fractions of the skew polynomial ring K[X;σ], and let D^? be the multiplicative group of D. We show that if N is a noncentral normal subgroup of D^?, then N contains a free subgroup. We also prove that when k is algebraically closed and σ has infinite order, there exists a specialization from D to a quaternion algebra. This allows us to explicitly present free subgroups in D^?.     

Stability,periodicity, and symmetries of certain second‐order fractional difference equation with quadratic terms via KAM theory

By using the Kolmogorov–Arnold–Moser theory, we investigate the stability of the equilibrium solution of the difference equation where A ,B ,D > 0,u _?1,u ₀>0. We also use the symmetries to find effectively the periodic solutions with feasible periods. Copyright © 2016 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.     

Existence and exact controllability of fractional evolution inclusions with damping

The aim of this paper is to deal with the existence of mild solutions and exact controllability for a class of fractional evolution inclusions with damping (FEID, for short) in Banach spaces. Firstly, we provide the representation of mild solutions for FEID by applying the method of Laplace transform and the theory of (α,κ)‐regularized families of operators. Next, we are concerned with the existence and exact controllability of FEID under some suitable sufficient conditions by using the method of measure of noncompactness and an appropraite fixed point theorem. Finally, an application to nonlinear partial differential equations with temporal fractional derivatives is presented to illustrate the effectiveness of our main results. Existence of μ−pseudo almost periodic solutions to some evolution equations

In this article, a new approach for pseudo almost periodic solution under the measure theory, under Acquistpace‐Terreni conditions. We make extensive use of interpolation spaces and exponential dichotomy techniques to obtain the existence of μ‐pseudo almost periodic solutions to some classes of nonautonomous partial evolution equations. Blow‐up for the b‐family of equations

In this paper, we consider the b‐family of equations on the torus u _t ?u _{t x x} +(b + 1)u u _x =b u _x u _{x x} +u u _{x x x} , which for appropriate values of b reduces to well‐known models, such as the Camassa–Holm equation or the Degasperis–Procesi equation. Pseudo‐spherical normal Darboux images of curves on a lightlike surface

We introduce the notions of the pseudospherical normal Darboux images for the curve on a lightlike surface in Minkowski 3‐space and study these Darboux images by using technics of the singularity theory. Furthermore, we give a relation between these Darboux images and Darboux frame from the viewpoint of Legendrian dualities.     

Exact separation theorem for closed sets in Asplund spaces

In this paper, in terms of the Fréchet normal cone, we establish exact separation results for finitely many disjoint closed sets in an Asplund space, which supplement the extremal principle and some fuzzy separation theorems. As an application, we provide a new optimality condition for a constraint optimization problem in terms of Fréchet subdifferential and Fréchet normal cone.

研究分数扩散模型的参数估计及其应用问题.分数扩散模型是一类由分数Brownian运动驱动的随机微分方程.主要结果有:(1)利用二次变差方法给出模型中扩散系数的估计量,通过最小二乘法给出模型中漂移系数的估计量;(2)证明这些估计量的一致收敛性和渐近正态性;(3)利用MCMC方法对此估计量进行验证,并通过R软件将上述模型以及参数估计量应用到SHIBOR利率中进行实证研究.     

On Moments of Folded and Truncated Multivariate Normal Distributions

Recurrence relations for integrals that involve the density of multivariate normal distributions are developed. These recursions allow fast computation of the moments of folded and truncated multivariate normal distributions. Besides being numerically efficient, the proposed recursions also allow us to obtain explicit expressions of low-order moments of folded and truncated multivariate normal distributions.
